Psalm 52

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

This is where I’m at today…

8 But I am like an olive tree
flourishing in the house of God;
I trust in God’s unfailing love
for ever and ever.

9 I will praise you forever for what you have done;
in your name I will hope, for your name is good.
I will praise you in the presence of your saints.

Birthday Party!

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

We had a great birthday party for Nathan yesterday evening at Pump-It-Up in Raleigh, NC.  Liz and I were wrecked afterward, plus I hurt my back on the bouncy castle!  Still, brilliant time had by all.  The staff and facilities at Pump-It-Up were great.

Are you Russian?

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

If you are, please come visit my blog. Russia is seriously under represented on my blog statistics map. I’m particularly interested in getting a star right where I’ve placed the yellow/red square… ;-)
Calling all Russians!

Everyone else, how does your map look? Got any sparse areas you’d like to fill?

Update - 24 Jun 2008 - Hooray!

Well, first we had we Axinia who is Russian, but not actually in Russia. So that didn’t count… ;-) but whether she managed to or not, I give her the credit for sending somebody that does!

We got one!

NHC Set List - 22 Jun 2008

Sunday, June 22nd, 2008
  • Everlasting God - Brenton Brown / Ken Riley
  • King Of Majesty - Marty Sampson
  • Mighty To Save - Ben Fielding / Reuben Morgan
  • Jesus Paid It All - Alex Nifong / Elvina M. Hall
  • (Feature) Waiting On The World To Change - John Mayer

Today worship was led by Seth, who was over in North Carolina visiting Gary for the weekend.  Seth serves as Worship Pastor at Four Corners church in Texas.  He did a great job this morning.

Hugh rocked the house with the feature song today.  Not many people knew he had a rock star voice to go along with those mad guitar skills and image.  ;-)

Hog Day

Saturday, June 21st, 2008

We had good fun at Hog Day down at Hillsborough.  We arrived about noon today and spent about three hours there browsing the stalls and taking the kids on the rides.  Katie went on her first pony ride and she was so excited.  We shared a big greasey bloomin’ onion for lunch.

Cool Firefox Plugin : PicLens

Sunday, June 15th, 2008

Barry showed me this plugin for Firefox the other day.  It’s a cool way of searching YouTube, Flickr, Google and many others in 3D.  It appears that support for more sites are being added all the time.  The interface reminds me a bit of the coverflow feature in iTunes as you glide up and down through the search results.  Check it out.

NHC Set List - 15 Jun 2008

Sunday, June 15th, 2008
  • Here Is Our King - David Crowder Band
  • Let Me Sing - Todd Fields
  • Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone) - Chris Tomlin
  • Another Hallelujah - Lincoln Brewster

Both services went great today.  We introduced a new song “Let Me Sing”.  I think Gary heard it at the Drive conference a month or so back.  It’s a great song and seemed to go down really well.
