Top Posts for February 2008

Friday, February 29th, 2008

Here’s the top posts for the month of February.  The chords for In Christ Alone remain popular - many people arrive at the blog searching for these.  From The Inside Out is the most popular video on my YouTube channel.  It’s nice to see my new Bible Journey posts in the top 20.

I added a couple of new links to the blogroll tonight.  Worship-Arts-Ministry by David Linder, and Ethos… a Cultural Watercooler by Randy Elrod.  I kicked myself for not having Randy linked before now as I’ve been subscribed to his feed for ages.

I really would have loved to go to RE:CREATE this year.  I’ll be aiming to attend next year for sure.

You Never Let Go (Chords)

Monday, February 25th, 2008

I’m really digging this song from Matt Redman at the moment. I’ll do a YouTube video of it as soon as I’m comfortable playing it! Here’s the chords I’m using.

You Never Let Go

Video: The Wonderful Cross (When I Survey)

Saturday, February 23rd, 2008

When I Survey is a great hymn, and like many great hymns has many versions.  This version introduces a great chorus which I like.

Lyrics (Chords here)
When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of glory died,
My richest gain I count but loss,
And pour contempt on all my pride.

See from His head, His hands, His feet,
Sorrow and love flow mingled down:
Did e’er such love and sorrow meet,
Or thorns compose so rich a crown?

Oh the wonderful Cross, oh the wonderful Cross
Bids me come and die and find that I may truly live
Oh the wonderful Cross, oh the wonderful Cross
All who gather here by grace draw near
And bless Your name

Were the whole realm of Nature mine,
That were an offering far too small;
Love so amazing, so divine,
Demands my soul, my life, my all!

Video: Majesty (Here I Am)

Saturday, February 23rd, 2008

I’ve always loved this song from Delirious.  The verses never worked too well congregationally because they are quite low but we often used the chorus in our worship sets.

Lyrics (Chords here)
Here I am humbled by your Majesty
Covered by your grace so free
Here I am, knowing I’m a sinful man
Covered by the blood of the Lamb

Now I’ve found the greatest love of all is mine
Since you laid down your life
The greatest sacrifice

Majesty, Majesty
Your grace has found me just as I am
Empty handed, but alive in your hands
Majesty, Majesty
Forever I am changed by your love
In the presence of your Majesty

Here I am humbled by the love that you give
Forgiven so that I can forgive
Here I stand, knowing that I’m your desire
Sanctified by glory and fire

Now I’ve found the greatest love of all is mine
Since you laid down your life
The greatest sacrifice

Which Church?: The Decision

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

After much deliberation, we finally decided to keep going to NHC.  Even though it is further away, we just feel more drawn to it.  The Bridge is great church too and I’m glad they are based in our local community.

I’m heading down to NHC community group tonight for the first time.  We are reading (and I guess discussing) a book called Uncommon Graces: Christlike Responses to a Hostile World by John Vawter.  I’ve read chapter 1 in preparation for tonight and so far so good.  I’ll share more about the book as we go through it with the group.

Holding Nothing Back

Here’s the original and best version of Holding Nothing Back. These guys rock! I’m guessing the older guy is Tim and the little chap is Hugh?

Tricks on my bike!

Sunday, February 10th, 2008

I do tricks on my bike, and I’ve just learnt!

I do tricks like doing jumps.  I also can get on my bike and put one foot in the air.
